  • What is the Annual Malcolm X Festival?
    The Atlanta Chapter of Community Aid and Development Corporation (CAD) and the Malcolm X Grassroots Movement (MXGM) use this event to acknowledge and celebrate the birthday of our national hero, Brother Malcolm X Omowale Malik Shabazz, born on May 19, 1925.


  • What time does it begin and end?
    The event begins at 12:00 pm noon and ends at 8:00 pm on both Saturday and Sunday days. RAIN or SHINE.


  • What should we expect?
    All activities, including speeches, solidarity statements, spiritual affirmations, and musical performances will relate to Malcolm's message of Human Rights and Self-Determination.


  • What is the purpose of the event?
    To provide metro-Atlanta citizens an opportunity to recognize and celebrate the legacy of an international African icon by means of cultural expression and celebration which promotes unity while honoring diversity.


  • What type of vendors should be expected?
    Unique cultural artifacts, paintings, sculpture, carvings, jewelry, literature, clothing, crafts, food and much, much more.


  • Does it cost anything to attend?
    No, there is no admission fee.


  • Where can I park?
    Parking is available on the streets only. No parking is allowed on the park grounds. We encourage you to take MARTA and walk from the West End Station to West End Park. The following parking lots are available: Hammonds House - 503 Peeples St., Shrine of the Black Madonna - 946 Ralph David Abernathy (Saturday only), Atlanta Good Shepherd Community Church 445 Lawton St., SW Atlanta, GA 30310.
